Awaken: December 16th

Is there anything more beautiful than a gigantic stack of handmade fresh sandwiches?? This week we welcomed back several people who were home for the Christmas break. All of you who are back in town… you need to come and see us. All of you who never left town… you need to come and see us too. All of you who come and see us often… You come and see us again. Jim was our speaker this week and he brought us all the way up to the manger. Matt Roper brought us a song for altar time. Many of you have asked what that song was… the song was by Dave Matthews and it is called “The Christmas Song”. After worship we dug into that delicious stack of sandwiches that were topped with all of those wonderful sandwich toppings.
Come and join us next week at Awaken. We start at 5:00pm and all are welcome to join us. Tell a friend or two and then bring two others! See you all soon.

Awaken: December 9th

This was a good week. What a great turn out. Jim was our speaker this week and he spoke about this advent season. This was Andrew’s last week until the new year. Andrew went home to Georgetown for the Christmas break. We had some great sloppy joes and then went and played some football in the CLC.

To all of those who will going home for the Christmas break as school semesters come to an end have a Merry Christmas and we hope to see you next year at Awaken!

To all of those who have come home from colleges for the Christmas break I want to invite you to come and join us at Awaken. Free food and worship… You can’t beat that on a Sunday night. Come and join us.

See you all soon! Tell a friend about us.

Awaken: December 2nd

Breakfast for Dinner?? Yes we did!! It was delicious too! We had a really good night this past week. We had a little hold up with some broken guitar strings, but that gave us an excellent opportunity to share our joys and concerns with each other. Rev. Jim Chandler brought us the message this week. If you missed out this week don’t worry you can come out this Sunday! Come and join us for some more free food, fellowship, and worship. We start at 5:00pm and dinner follows worship. Tell a friend or two and we will see you all next week!

The announcement of a new Sunday school class was made. There is a new Sunday school class for Young Adults that meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45am. They are in the room upstairs and the end of the hall opposite the water fountain. This past Sunday the class started a series on Advent. All are welcome! They are looking for a name for the class, so if you have any suggestion please let them know.
